SUMMARY:Eastern Shore Getaway
DESCRIPTION:Hello Beachcombers!  Several things are set for our weekend getaway in the Easton/St. Michael’s area on the Maryland Eastern Shore.  We will be staying at the Quality Inn in Easton (in the blue box under “VENUES”).  Easton is north approximately a 3hr 10min drive from Virginia Beach over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel then up Route 13 to Route 50.  Easton is on Route 50.  St. Michaels is 15 miles west of Easton.  We will be visiting the St. Michael’s Classic Motor Museum on Saturday morning for their cars and coffee (free)\, followed by a tour of their museum ($10/person).  We will also (hopefully) be taking a 65-minute historical cruise on the “Patriot” on Saturday afternoon at 2:30PM (approximately $25/person).  These attractions are discussed in the itinerary as well as dining\, shopping\, and other sightseeing possibilities. \nFor hotel booking\, call the Quality Inn at 410-820-8333 and mention the “Beachcombers Corvette Club”.  The 2-night stay will be $90/night plus taxes and fees which is $9\, so the total is $198.  If you decide to go\, not only get the room at the hotel but sign-up via RSVP below.  You can also contact me to sign up.  Know to receive this rate\, you must book prior to March 26th. \nWe will meet on Friday\, April 26th at the Kroger (in the blue box under “VENUES”) on Shore Drive next to their fuel center at 10:00AM.  We will depart Kroger at 10:15AM and proceed north over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.  We’ll stop for lunch at 12:30PM at the LongHorn Steakhouse in Salisbury MD.  After lunch we’ll head to Easton and arrive at the hotel at 3:00PM. \nOn Sunday after we check out those can proceed to their next adventure\, or just head home.  For those heading home\, some may wish to stop at the Bordeleau Vineyard and Winery.  We should be back at the Kroger on Shore Drive by 4:30PM. \nI’ve uploaded my preliminary itinerary (here) with all of the details mentioned above.  Know the itinerary is preliminary and will change as we get close.  It’s just to help you decide if you’re interested in this weekend getaway.  If you wish to help research our weekend\, let me know your ideas! \nHere is a list of Beachcombers (listed by car) that are going: \n\nWendy Hanson and Bill Kaelin\nNickie and Al Plotnik\nFran and John Kummers\nFrancine and Ed Deir\nBrenda and Skip Cutting\nSandi and Richard Gatling\nSandy and Mike Pristas\nBarbara and Pete Schultz\n\n  \nThis list will be updated periodically.  This list last updated on April 3rd. \n

SUMMARY:OBX Rod and Custom Festival
DESCRIPTION:The Rod and Customs group in Nags Head\, NC will again have their annual Festival.  Last year there were over 1600 cars! Registration is open (see the red “Sign-Up Here!” button).  If you pre-register by March 18th\, the cost is $50.  After that date\, registration is $60.  For information related to this 2-day festival\, click the “View Venue Website” link under the “VENUE” in the blue box.  A link to the event’s FaceBook page is here. \nHotel arrangements are listed here.  There are two Comfort Inns listed.  Both have discounted room rates.  Also\, the Ramada and the Heart of Manteo Lodge have discounted room rates. \n

SUMMARY:Zip Corvette Customer Appreciation Day
