SUMMARY:IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship - Rolex 24 Hour Daytona
DESCRIPTION:Daytona International Speedway\nThis is about the time of year when we begin thinking (and planning) for the Beachcombers annual migration to Daytona Beach\, FL for the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA. This 24-hour sports car endurance race is held annually and kicks off the new IMSA Weather Tech SportsCar Championship season. There are traditionally around sixty cars in the field competing for the overall victory as well as four different classes. Each team trades shifts between three and five drivers. Types of cars include Porsches\, Ferraris\, Corvettes\, Mazda\, Fords\, Lamborghinis\, Lexus and Cadillac. For those new to the Beachcombers\, we have made this multi-day road trip for several years and have always had a good time. If IMSA racing is something you enjoy or is something you’d like to learn more about\, you won’t be disappointed by attending this race. The weather can be unpredictable\, but we’ve always managed to make the best of it and the race still goes on. The current plan is to depart for Daytona on Thursday\, January 26 and drive to Savannah GA\, where we’ll spend the night and then drive into Daytona on Friday\, January 27. Rooms have been blocked at the Iris Garden Inn in Savannah and at the Super 8 in Daytona Beach\, FL\, under the Beachcombers Corvette Club name.\n\nTo reserve a room at the Iris Garden Inn for Thursday January 26\, call 1-912-777-5002 and ask for one of the rooms reserved for the Beachcombers Corvette Club at the rate of $79.00 (plus tax).\n\nTo reserve a room at the Super 8 call 386-255-5540 and tell them you wish to reserve one of the rooms blocked for the Beachcombers Corvette Club. The room rate at the Super 8 is $649.00 plus tax for the 3-night stay. This is more than we usually pay but because this being a race weekend room rates are extremely high.\n\nTo take advantage of the above rates you must reserve your rooms prior to November 30\, 2022. \nAfter that the above room rates will not apply. On January 30\, after checking out of the hotel you’re on your own as some may be taking side trips to other adventures and others heading directly back home.
