SUMMARY:15th Annual Vettes Doin' Charleston 2024
DESCRIPTION:The Coastal Carolina Corvette Club is hosting their annual event.  The link to their upcoming 2024 car show event is here.  Know that on-line registration is open. You can only register on-line\, and the registration deadline is before April 6th.  Registration cancellations will be accepted before Tuesday\, April 16th.  To register\, click the red button labeled “Sign-Up Here!”\, or the link is here.  The car show is $28.00.  Optional T-Shirt is $15.00.  You can show up and pay on the day of the car show for $30.00 provided spots are available.  This is a rain or shine event. \nThere will be Friday night meet-and-greet on Friday from 5:00-7:00PM at New Realm (see the blue box under “VENUE”) where each pays their own expenses.  New Realm will be the venue for the Saturday car show also.  The car show is from 9:00AM-2:00PM with trophy awards starting at 1:00PM. \nThe host hotel is the Hampton Inn located at 160 Fairfield St\, Charleston\, SC 29492.  To make a room reservation\, call the Hampton Inn at 843-216-6555.  Mention “Vettes Doin’ Charleston” or “VDC” to receive discounted rate.  The hotel website link is here.  I don’t see any mention of the discounted rates yet the flyer states that the rooms must be booked by March 21st to receive it.  You can early check-in for the car show at the hotel on Friday once you’ve checked in. \nIf you plan to go\, please sign-up/RSVP below\, at our next business meeting\, or contact me. \nHere is a list of Beachcombers (by car) who are going: \n\nKaren and Dave Ambrose\n\nThis list will be updated periodically.  This list last updated on February 20th \n

SUMMARY:71st Annual NATO Parade of Nations
DESCRIPTION:The Norfolk annual NATO parade is the longest continuously running parade in Hampton Roads and the only parade in the United States honoring NATO!  Over 100 Parade Units with local and visiting high school bands\, U.S. and International Military bands\, and colorful floats which represent each of the NATO Member Nations! DESCRIPTION:The Yorktown High School is having their annual car show to benefit their Senior Send-Off.  On the day of the show\, registration now starts at 11:00AM.  Top 50 awards.  Concessions will be sold all day.  There will be goodie bags for the first 125 cars.  Early bird registration has ended\, day of show is $20.  You can pay in advance by printing out the attached flyer (write a check for $20 and send it in the mail)\, or you can register/pay online here. SUMMARY:Eastern Shore Getaway
DESCRIPTION:Hello Beachcombers!  Several things are set for our weekend getaway in the Easton/St. Michael’s area on the Maryland Eastern Shore.  We will be staying at the Quality Inn in Easton (in the blue box under “VENUES”).  Easton is north approximately a 3hr 10min drive from Virginia Beach over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel then up Route 13 to Route 50.  Easton is on Route 50.  St. Michaels is 15 miles west of Easton.  We will be visiting the St. Michael’s Classic Motor Museum on Saturday morning for their cars and coffee (free)\, followed by a tour of their museum ($10/person).  We will also (hopefully) be taking a 65-minute historical cruise on the “Patriot” on Saturday afternoon at 2:30PM (approximately $25/person).  These attractions are discussed in the itinerary as well as dining\, shopping\, and other sightseeing possibilities. \nFor hotel booking\, call the Quality Inn at 410-820-8333 and mention the “Beachcombers Corvette Club”.  The 2-night stay will be $90/night plus taxes and fees which is $9\, so the total is $198.  If you decide to go\, not only get the room at the hotel but sign-up via RSVP below.  You can also contact me to sign up.  Know to receive this rate\, you must book prior to March 26th. \nWe will meet on Friday\, April 26th at the Kroger (in the blue box under “VENUES”) on Shore Drive next to their fuel center at 10:00AM.  We will depart Kroger at 10:15AM and proceed north over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.  We’ll stop for lunch at 12:30PM at the LongHorn Steakhouse in Salisbury MD.  After lunch we’ll head to Easton and arrive at the hotel at 3:00PM. \nOn Sunday after we check out those can proceed to their next adventure\, or just head home.  For those heading home\, some may wish to stop at the Bordeleau Vineyard and Winery.  We should be back at the Kroger on Shore Drive by 4:30PM. \nI’ve uploaded my preliminary itinerary (here) with all of the details mentioned above.  Know the itinerary is preliminary and will change as we get close.  It’s just to help you decide if you’re interested in this weekend getaway.  If you wish to help research our weekend\, let me know your ideas! \nHere is a list of Beachcombers (listed by car) that are going: \n\nWendy Hanson and Bill Kaelin\nNickie and Al Plotnik\nFran and John Kummers\nFrancine and Ed Deir\nBrenda and Skip Cutting\nSandi and Richard Gatling\nSandy and Mike Pristas\nBarbara and Pete Schultz\n\n  \nThis list will be updated periodically.  This list last updated on April 3rd. \n
