DESCRIPTION:The Virginia Diner in Wakefield will be hosting the event.  Registration is between 8-10AM\, participant judging ballots due by 1PM\, awards at 2PM.  $20 early registration (here)\, $25 at the gate.  All vehicles are welcome including motorcycles.  Dash plaques for 1st 50 entries. \nIf you plan to go\, please RSVP below.  We’ll see you there\, or if you wish to travel with our group\, we’ll meet at the Greenbrier Mall parking lot near Abuelo’s Mexican restaurant (here) at 7:45AM\, depart at 8AM.  We’ll enjoy a nice hour-long drive to Wakefield.  When the show is over\, we’ll head home. \nHere are the Beachcombers who have signed up: \n\nWendy Hanson and Bill Kaelin\nLisa and Tom Quicke\n\nI’ll update this list periodically.  This list was last updated on June 18th.

SUMMARY:Corvette Extravaganza
DESCRIPTION:Our friends at the Coastal Corvette Club of Delaware are hosting their annual Corvette Extravaganza at the Burton Lewes Automall in Lewes\, Delaware.  This is a Corvette-Only show with cash prizes and trophies for the first/top 10 places sponsored by Burton.  There are 20 additional trophies sponsored by the CCC!  See the flyer!  Coastal Corvette Club member’s cars will not be judged.  The car show benefits the Jason Anderson Foundation for Youth Sports.  There will be a 50/50 and prizes.  There will also be food trucks on site.  There is no pre-registration.  Onsite registration at the event site starts at 8AM.  Entry fee is $20.00 which includes a free breakfast. \nJoe Wryk will lead a day-trip group to Lewes and back.  You can meet up with Joe at the Wawa on Northampton Blvd (here) at 5:20AM on Saturday\, July 1st.  A prompt departure from Wawa at 5:30AM would have the group be at the Burton Lewes Automall around 9AM.  During the drive\, back the group will stop for dinner at one of the many restaurants along the route. \nFor those wishing to stay the night before\, on June 30th\, there is an Anchorage Motel ($225/night) and the Hampton Inn in Rehoboth Beach ($258/night).  A 40-minute drive away in Seaford is a Days Inn and Suites for $109/night.  Sign-up either at the Business meeting\, on-line (below)\, or call me. \nHere is the list of Attendees: \n\nGale and Wade Ridgely\nKaren and Dave Ambrose\nMarge and Joe Wryk\nBrenda and Skip Cutting\nFran and John Kummers\n\nThis list will be updated periodically.  Last updated on June 24th.

DESCRIPTION:Join the Beachcombers and other car enthusiasts every Saturday at Landstown Commons Shopping Center starting April 1st and ending on October 28th.  You can purchase a season pass for $50 at the link here.  You may also pay each week you attend for $3.00.  \nThis Cruise-in we will be accepting donations for the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore.  Click the red Download Flyer button which identifies items to bring.  Also\, any money collected above the $3/car will go the Foodbank.\nKnow that the BCC hosts this event on the following Saturdays: \nApril 1st\, April 29th\, May 27th\, June 24th\, July 22nd\, August 19th\, September 16th\, and October 14th. \nFrom an anonymous visitor… \nSo\, I spent some time at a Food Bank today\, and spoke to the people getting food. Here are some things I learned from those in need: \n\nEveryone donates Kraft Mac and Cheese in the box. They can rarely use it because it needs milk and butter which is hard to get from regular food banks.\nBoxed milk is a treasure\, as kids need it for cereal which they also get a lot of.\nEveryone donates pasta sauce and spaghetti noodles.\nThey cannot eat all the awesome canned veggies and soup unless you put a can opener in too or buy pop tops.\nOil is a luxury but needed for Rice a-Roni which they also get a lot of.\nSpices or salt and pepper would be a real gift.\nTea bags and coffee make them feel like you care.\nSugar and flour are treats.\nThey fawn over fresh produce donated by farmers and grocery stores.\nSeeds are cool in Spring and Summer because growing can be easy for some.\nThey rarely get fresh meat.\nTuna and crackers make a good lunch.\nHamburger Helper goes nowhere without ground beef.\nThey get lots of peanut butter and jelly but usually not sandwich bread.\nButter or margarine is nice too.\nEggs are a real commodity.\nCake mix and frosting makes it possible to make a child’s birthday cake.\nDishwashing detergent is very expensive and is always appreciated.\nFeminine hygiene products are a luxury and women will cry over that.\nEveryone loves Stove Top Stuffing.\n\nIn all the years I have donated food\, I bought what I thought they wanted\, but have never asked. I am glad I did. If you are helping a Family\, maybe this can help you tailor it more. It does for me!

DESCRIPTION:Join us at noon at Elizabeth River Park located on the southern branch of the Elizabeth River.  The park has one of the most active boat ramps in the Hampton Roads area.  Adjacent to the park is the new South Norfolk Jordan Bridge which has a maximum height of 169 feet. \nThere is no RSVP/sign-up for this event\, just show up.  Once you go over the railroad crossing\, turn left to enter the park then head for the Snack Shack next to the boat ramp.  Park at the pavilion at the Snack Shack.  The Snack Shack should be open for concessions\, and bait and tackle. Hours of operation are Friday\, Saturday\, and Sunday from 9AM-5PM.  However\, plan on your own lunch and not rely on the Shack for your meal. \nAs of now\, the event is a go. Pack your favorite lunch and beverage and we’ll see you there!

SUMMARY:Vettes at Waterside District
DESCRIPTION:Event registration is open!\nWe are going to have the Saturday car show at Waterside District.  We will be parking corvettes on the promenade on a first-come/first-serve basis.  Parking on the Promenade will start at 8AM.  Once positioned on the Promenade\, cars cannot move from 10AM until 4PM.  Once a maximum capacity is reached on the Promenade\, parking will be directed to the Multi-Use Lot (MUL).  Or if you prefer to park in the MUL\, it is your choice.  We will have raffle prizes and a silent auction on Saturday.  We will hold an informal “No Host” Meet-And-Greet event at the first-floor bar area Friday evening from 5:30-7:30pm.  Cost for the Saturday car show event is $25.00 per car. \nOnline registration at Eventbrite is here. \nIf you prefer to fill in a registration form\, the form is here. \n

DESCRIPTION:Our Cruise to Zip event will be for their Customer Appreciation Day which is Saturday May 6th. While there\, all receive 10% off of purchases in their showroom.  Zip opens their campus to Corvettes and offers free food and drink.  We follow up with our own luncheon at the Roma Restaurant near the Zip Corvette campus at 1PM before heading home. \nWe will meet at Greenbrier Mall at 9AM and roll at 9:15AM.  We’ll also stop at the rest stop on I-64 at mile marker 214 at 10:30AM to meet any additional BCC members.  We will leave the rest stop at 10:45AM.  We anticipate arrival at the Zip Corvette campus at 11:15AM.  For those wishing to attend lunch at Roma Restaurant\, we will leave Zip Corvette at 12:45PM with lunch starting at 1PM.  This is a sign-up event.
