DESCRIPTION:Event registration is open!\nWe are going to have the Saturday car show at Waterside District.  We will be parking corvettes on the promenade on a first-come/first-serve basis.  Parking on the Promenade will start at 8AM.  Once positioned on the Promenade\, cars cannot move from 10AM until 4PM.  Once a maximum capacity is reached on the Promenade\, parking will be directed to the Multi-Use Lot (MUL).  Or if you prefer to park in the MUL\, it is your choice.  We will have raffle prizes and a silent auction on Saturday.  We will hold an informal “No Host” Meet-And-Greet event at the first-floor bar area Friday evening from 5:30-7:30pm.  Cost for the Saturday car show event is $25.00 per car. \nOnline registration at Eventbrite is here. \nIf you prefer to fill in a registration form\, the form is here. \n

DESCRIPTION:Beachcombers\, are you up for a road trip?  If so\, you may want to consider joining us on a trip to the SOUTHERN GRACE DISTILLERY near Charlotte\, NC.  We’ll be leaving on Thursday\, April 13 and return home on Friday\, April 14. \nThe current plan is to meet at Greenbrier Mall\, adjacent to Abuelo’s Mexican Restaurant\, on Thursday morning at 7:00 am and travel to the distillery with stops as necessary along the way.  Once in the vicinity of the distillery we’ll stop for lunch at one of the distillery’s recommended restaurants.  We have reservations for a 2:00 pm tour and tasting and you can pay the per person charge upon arrival. \nFollowing the distillery\, we’ll head to the SpringHill Suites Charlotte Concord Mills/Speedway for the night (located at 7811 Gateway Lane\, Concord\, NC 28027).  Please call them at 1-704-979-2500 to make your room reservation.  After check-in we can head out to one of the local eateries for dinner. \nOn Friday morning\, you’re on your own to explore the area with a planned meeting in the hotel parking lot at NOON to head to the Richard Childress Winery which is about an hour from the hotel.  At the vineyard we’ll enjoy lunch followed by browsing / shopping in their gift shop.  Then when everyone is ready – we’ll head home. \nIn order to confirm our reservations at the Distillery and Winery please sign up below or contact Bill at 757-343-4873 or Joe at 757-342-9207.  Please do so no later than Friday\, April 7.  Be sure you indicate total number traveling in your party. \nBelow are the Beachcombers who have signed up.  I’ll update this list periodically: \n\nCarolyn and Ed Bickham\nMarge and Joe Wryk\nJeff Biggs\nFran and John Kummers\n\nThis list was last updated on April 3rd.

There are traditionally around sixty cars in the field competing for the overall victory as well as four different classes. Each team trades shifts between three and five drivers. Types of cars include Porsches\, Ferraris\, Corvettes\, Mazda\, Fords\, Lamborghinis\, Lexus and Cadillac. For those new to the Beachcombers\, we have made this multi-day road trip for several years and have always had a good time. If IMSA racing is something you enjoy or is something you’d like to learn more about\, you won’t be disappointed by attending this race. The weather can be unpredictable\, but we’ve always managed to make the best of it and the race still goes on. The current plan is to depart for Daytona on Thursday\, January 26 and drive to Savannah GA\, where we’ll spend the night and then drive into Daytona on Friday\, January 27. Rooms have been blocked at the Iris Garden Inn in Savannah and at the Super 8 in Daytona Beach\, FL\, under the Beachcombers Corvette Club name.\n\nTo reserve a room at the Iris Garden Inn for Thursday January 26\, call 1-912-777-5002 and ask for one of the rooms reserved for the Beachcombers Corvette Club at the rate of $79.00 (plus tax).\n\nTo reserve a room at the Super 8 call 386-255-5540 and tell them you wish to reserve one of the rooms blocked for the Beachcombers Corvette Club. The room rate at the Super 8 is $649.00 plus tax for the 3-night stay. This is more than we usually pay but because this being a race weekend room rates are extremely high.\n\nTo take advantage of the above rates you must reserve your rooms prior to November 30\, 2022. \nAfter that the above room rates will not apply. On January 30\, after checking out of the hotel you’re on your own as some may be taking side trips to other adventures and others heading directly back home.

DESCRIPTION:Fellow Beachcombers… come by The Garage Brewery for some good conversation and craft beer!  For the BCC\, this is a monthly event on the 2nd Wednesday.  Each month\, a selected BCC member’s Corvette gets to park inside for all patrons to see. There is a food truck outside which changes almost daily. Also\, Corvette owners receive a 10% discount off of their craft beer!  The front parking lot is blocked off for us to park.  It’s a fun event!

DESCRIPTION:Several Beachcombers are fans of the Corvette racing and watching them race in person is an exciting experience and great way to show your support for the Corvette Racing Team. For the past several years the Beachcombers have traveled to VIR to enjoy the company of Corvette Racing Team fans and to watch the race from the Corvette Coral. \nOnce again VIR has graciously agreed to donate two Corvette Coral ticket packages for the IMSA Race weekend to the Beachcombers as a money maker for our Club. These packages will be raffled off later in the year. Plans are forthcoming for securing a hotel in the area for those interested in making this a weekend trip. \nEach Corvette Coral ticket package has a value of just under $300.00. If you’d like to have a chance of obtaining one of these ticket packages at a cost of $150.00 this is what you need to do; add your name to the “IMSA Race at VIR Sign-Up Sheet”. You can add your name in person at the July Business Meetings or contact me and I’ll add your name to the list. Everyone who’s name is on the Sign-Up Sheet will be placed in a hat for a drawing and two lucky winners will be drawn at the July Board Meeting and the winners will be notified. \nWe have 10 rooms blocked at the Quality Inn Reidsville located at 2203 Barnes Street\, Reidsville\, NC for August 26 & 27.
