DESCRIPTION:The 73rd Annual Norfolk NATO Festival Parade of Nations is a free\, 90-minute event on April 18\, 2026\, in downtown Norfolk\, VA\, celebrating NATO’s 32 member nations. As the only U.S. parade honoring NATO\, it features international floats\, military units\, and marching bands.  \nKey Details for 2026\n\nDate & Time: Saturday\, April 18\, 2026\, at 12:00 PM.\nLocation: Downtown Norfolk\, typically moving along Granby Street and Waterside Drive.\nHighlights: Floats representing all NATO member nations\, local/visiting high school bands\, and the Virginia International Tattoo performers.\nAssociated Events: The Parade is followed by the International Village at Town Point Park. \nVirginia Arts FestivalVirginia Arts Festival +4\n\n\n\nThis event is the longest-running parade in Hampton Roads\, showcasing international unity and culture.  \nDowntown NorfolkDowntown Norfolk +1\n\n \n\n  \nHello Beachcombers!  Bill Kaelin here…  I have updates to our parade participation as follows. \nThe Norfolk annual NATO parade is the longest continuously running parade in Hampton Roads and the only parade in the United States honoring NATO!  Over 100 Parade Units with local and visiting high school bands\, U.S. and International Military bands\, and colorful floats which represent each of the NATO Member Nations! Local community organization and Festival partners are also featured.  Being a motor unit\, we are limited to 10 cars. \nThis will be a rain-or-shine event!!!  Should the parade organizers delay\, cancel\, or postpone this event\, I’ll contact each participant with any change. \nPlease note that the Parade has a different start time than previous years.  Instead of stepping off at 10:00AM\, it’s now noon.  As such we are being asked to enter Harbor Park by 10:00AM.  Therefore\, we’ll be meeting at the Shiloh Baptist Church located at 745 Park Ave\, Norfolk VA 23504 (shown below on the top right of map\, and the address is also shown on this web page in the blue box under “VENUE”).  We will meet in the Church parking lot at 9:30AM and roll at 9:45AM heading to Harbor Park following the blue path as shown on the map below.  Harbor Park is located at 150 Park Ave\, Norfolk VA 23510.  Please plan ahead since we’ll be at Harbor Park for 2 hours before the parade starts.  Bring snacks and/or drinks (no glass\, no alcohol) and folding/bag chair(s). \nHere is a route map we’ll take from the Church (upper right) to Harbor Park (lower left): \n \nPlease know\, if signing up for this event\, only the first 10 cars will be participating.  Those listed after will be alternates.  Should you sign up to be an alternate\, I’ll contact you should another participant be unable to participate for any reason.  When looking at the already registered participants\, please do not count the “Fred and Ginger” entry as participants.  Therefore\, it’s the 10 cars immediately following that will be participants.  Alternates will be shown after that.  To help\, I’ll update the list below to make sure of your participation or as an alternate. \nHere are the current list of participants/cars as of April 13th: \n\nAnna Bowen\nRuth and Bill Baum\nKonan and Mack Coppage\nJim Cyr\nMike Ware and Kristie Hollingsworth\nWendy and Bill Kaelin\nTom Quicke\nDiane and Keith Reitnouer\nElaine and Andy van der Poll\n\n\nAbove is the master list.  If you’re not listed and you believe you’re in the parade but have not received an email from me with our parade package\, please contact me.  Also If you have any questions\, please feel free to contact me on my cell phone at 757-343-4873. \n\nBill
