SUMMARY:Queen City Corvette Club's 13th Annual Corvette Show
DESCRIPTION:Online registration is open.  You can visit the QCCC website in the blue box on this page under “ORGANIZER” and navigate the\n“QCCC Car Show +” link or here.  Online/pre-registration ends on October 10th.  Last year there were over 750 corvettes on display as part of the show!  Cost for the show on Saturday is $30\, VIP parking is $70 (limited to 50 spots).  The event flyer is here.  The QCCC website still does not list hotels/rates for this event as of September 7th.  At this late date\, there’s likely no host hotel or set or recommended hotels coming from the QCCC. \nLast year\, we used the Residence Inn as a place for Beachcombers.  Looking (here) for a check-in date of October 18th\, check-out of October 20th\, at the RESIDENCE INN (By Marriott) Charlotte / Concord located at 7601 Scott Padgett Parkway\, Concord\, NC\, there are only suites available. Refundable king suites are $189/night (member)\, $199/night (non-member); refundable double-queen suites are $237/night (member)\, $249/night (non-member).  The Residence Inn’s phone number is 1-704-454-7862 should you need to call them.  This year each is on their own for room accommodations. \nLooking at other hotel options for refundable rooms on September 7th at hotels.com for a check-in on October 18th and check-out on October 20th\, there are several within a few miles from the Hendrick Motorsports complex.  The search I used is here.  There’s a Sleep Inn with free breakfast with a rating of 7.6 for $134/night ($302 total).  Best rating is 8.4 and that’s for a Comfort Suites-Concord Mills for $165/night ($373 total).  The lowest price (5.4 rating) is the HomeTowne Studios & Suites by Red Roof for $70/night ($158 total).  There are other choices many of which are in the high $100s to low $200s per night. \nFor those traveling to the show\, there are currently 5 cars going (as of October 10th).  Three cars are leaving Thursday (the 17th) and two are leaving Friday.  If you decide to go\, let me know which day and I’ll connect you with those traveling that day so you can drive together.  IMPORTANT!  There is no longer a group meeting at Greenbrier Mall Friday morning.  Please contact me!   \nAlso know it’s nice to park as a group during the show.  To do so\, the group must arrive together to the show.  If you don’t\, there’s no way to reserve adjacent parking spots! \nFor the return trip\, Preston will not be returning to Virginia Beach on Sunday\, but for those wishing to have lunch Sunday at the Childress Vinyards (a favorite restaurant\, phone: 336-236-9463) which is located at 1000 Childress Vineyards Rd\, Lexington\, NC 27295. \nIf you plan to go\, please sign-up/RSVP below. \nHere is a list of Beachcombers (by car) who plan to attend: \n\nKaren and Dave Ambrose\nJan and Andrew Baillie\nPreston Powers\nAngie and Mike Stallworth\nLV and Tank Torain\n\nThis list will be update periodically.  This list last updated on September 12th.

DESCRIPTION:35th Anniversary All Corvette Cruise-In\nThis is a big year for the All Corvette Cruise-In in Manassas Virginia. It’s our 35th Anniversary! Since 1990 the Cruise-In has taken place\, rain or shine\, balmy weather or heat\, even during the pandemic. \nIt’s also a big year for change: The All Corvette Cruise-In is moving! Not the location\, which remains Bomnin Chevrolet\, but the day. This year we will be holding the event on Sunday\, October 6th. It’s been held in August for so long we thought we’d better get the news of this change out early so everyone can plan accordingly. We’re also changing the time. We’re starting earlier\, at 11:00\, so those coming from far away can get an earlier start home. \nHolding it in October gets us out of the summer heat and humidity; and holding it on Sunday gives us more parking. less interference from folks bringing their pickup trucks in for service\, and gives those who work on Saturday a chance to join in. And we’re moving back to the front parking lot\, where we’ll get more visibility and attract more visitors. \nWe’ll have plenty of parking available\, along with great food\, great people\, great music\, door prizes\, a silent auction\,50/50 raffle\, and more. With a $25 donation\, you’ll receive a goodie bag\, a magnetic dash plaque\, and a door prize ticket. Register and pay online by September 29th and save $5. All ‘profits’ from the show benefit local charities and the NCM. (Yes\, we’ve raised our requested donation a bit. SUMMARY:2024 Corvette Extravaganza
DESCRIPTION:Our friends at the Coastal Corvette Club of Delaware are hosting their annual Corvette Extravaganza at the Burton Lewes Automall in Lewes\, Delaware.  The details for this event are in the flyer here.  There is no pre-registration\, just show up.  The cost is $20\, and you’ll receive a free breakfast sandwich!  Know the space used for the show can hold over 300 corvettes.  Registration starts at 8:00AM\, show starts at 9:00AM. \nLast year\, several people stayed Friday night instead of having a very long Saturday (leave 5:30AM\, 3hr15min drive\, registration starts at 8AM\, show from 9AM-2PM then 3hr15min drive home).  Looking on April 30th using hotels.com\, here are a few hotels for Friday night:  1) The Anchorage Inn $155 ($172 with taxes and fees)\, fully refundable got a very good (8.4) rating and 2 miles from the Automall\, 2) Econo Lodge ($132/$151) and 3) Roadway Inn ($93/$107) near the Automall. \nThis is a Corvette-Only car show benefiting the Henlopen Food Basket.  There will be a 50/50\, raffles\, and food trucks on site. \nRSVP/sign-up below. \nHere is a list of Beachcombers (listed by car) that are going: \n\nDiane and Keith Reitnouer\n\n  \nThis list will be updated periodically.  This list last updated on June 6th.

DESCRIPTION:In the past\, the Beachcombers have had as many as 12 cars make this trip!  It’s a nice event with a Friday night dinner and party.  Saturday is the car show with 250-300 Corvettes. DESCRIPTION:Our club is again hosting Vettes at Waterside Drive on Saturday with a Meet-&-Greet on Friday Night.  Our flyer is here. \nWe will have a “No-Host” Friday Night Meet-&-Greet will be from 5:30-7:30PM within Waterside District on ground/lower floor in the common area.  Just look for the Beachcombers Corvette Club banner. \nSaturday is our corvette-only car show.  There will not be trophies.  We will open the Valet Lane at Waterside District at 8:00AM for registration.  After registration\, we’ll have a photo taken for each car and then direct cars to park cars on the Promenade.  Cars that park on the Promenade will not be able to move until 4:00PM.  Should anyone need to leave before 4:00PM we ask that they park in the Multi-Use Lot (MUL)\, the side lot next to Waterside District.  Once maximum capacity is reached on the Promenade\, parking will be directed to the MUL. \nOn Saturday\, we will have raffle prizes and a silent action. \nWe need your help!  Please consider how you can make this event a success by helping with: \n\nVehicle registration (10 volunteers)\nHospitality (3 volunteers)\n50/25/25 raffle drawing (2 volunteers)\nTraffic Control/Parking (15 volunteers)\nPhotography (4 volunteers)\nDoor Prizes (donations)\nGoodie Bag Items (donations)\nSilent Auction (donations).\n\nDonation items will be accepted starting now until and including that Saturday.  Even if you cannot bring your car or volunteer to help that Saturday\, you can still donate!  You can bring donations to either the April or May Business meeting or by arranging a meet with any board member. \nOnline registration will be hosted by Eventbrite. SUMMARY:Queen City Corvette Club's 12th Annual Corvette Show
DESCRIPTION:QUEEN CITY CORVETTE CLUB – CAR SHOW\nThe Queen City Corvette Club (QCCC) of Charlotte will be hosting their 2023 car show to be held in Charlotte\, NC at the Hendrick Motorsports complex and usually has 400+ Corvettes! \nRegistration is open!  In addition to registering for the show for $30\, you can also purchase VIP parking at the show’s center for an additional $30.  The link to register is here. \nAlso\, this year there are two separate tours at the Hendrick Motor sport complex.  The first tour is at the Hendrick Heritage Center to see Rick’s car collection which lasts about 1 hour.  Tickets are $30 each.  The second tour is at the Race Shop and Engine Shop for his 4 cars: the #5\, #9\, #24\, and #48.  Tickets are $30 each.  The link to these tickets is here. \n           Below are some suggestions on where to stay and things to do while in the Charlotte area in addition to the Car Show.  On Saturday\, the Car Show is scheduled for registration to open at 8:00 am and at 2:00 pm is the presentation of awards which should allow time for other things to do on Friday evening and Saturday after the show (suggestions below). \n\n            HOTEL: A hotel has been chosen where the price is more affordable than the host hotel\, it is centrally located and is only a mile from the Car Show venue.  The hotel is the RESIDENCE INN (By Marriott) Charlotte / Concord located at 7601 Scott Padgett Parkway\, Concord\, NC.  There is no block of rooms!  The hotel recommends for everyone to go online and book their own room.  There is a Senior Rate (62 and older) of $135.00 (+tax) per night\, breakfast included.  The Residence Inn’s phone number is 1-704-454-7862 should you need to call them. \n            Obviously\, you can stay wherever you wish but if we’re all at the same hotel we can socialize in the lobby in the evenings\, which in the past has always proven to be a fun time. \n            HEAD COUNT: For the Ghost Tour (see below) and dining reservations it’s imperative we know how many travelers there will be.  To keep the organizers informed of the number of people traveling on this outing please sign-up on the BCC Website\, sign-up at the September or October BCC Business Meeting\, or contact me.  This will be the count used for determining the tour size and cost and for making group lunch and dinner reservations. \n            PLANNING: We’ll depart from Greenbrier Mall on Friday\, October 20 at about 10:00 am and proceed to the Residence Inn\, which is about 300 miles away\, about a five-hour drive.  Naturally there will be ample convenience stops along the way as well as a lunch stop.  After checking in at the hotel we’ll head to the Mount Pleasant SMOKEHOUSE for dinner before the tour. \nOTHER THINGS TO DO \n            GHOST TOUR: Earlier this year the Beachcombers traveled to the Southern Grace Distillery which is in an out-of-use prison about two miles outside of Mount Pleasant\, NC for a tour and sampling of their Conviction Bourbon.  While we were there\, we learned that the distillery is haunted.  We also learned that they offer nighttime paranormal tours which sounds interesting for everyone.  We’ve obtained a private tour for the BCC on Friday night; DESCRIPTION:You are cordially invited to spend a Corvette Enthusiast’s Dream Weekend attending the 44th Annual Vette Fest\, in the heart of Tennessee’s beautiful Smoky Mountains.  Vette Fest is hosted by the East Tennessee Corvette Club (ETCC) as a Fund-Raising event for our Children’s and Veteran’s charities. \nWe hope you will join us\, and hopefully 200+ other Vette owners from across our nation. The 2023 Glenstone Lodge venue (same as 2022) provides a Large Meeting area\, and adds the excitement of Downtown Gatlinburg\, TN.  Vette Fest is a casual dress (jeans\, etc.). Very light snacks and beverages will be provided in evenings.  The Glenstone has a NEW Lobby Restaurant for 2023 serving Breakfast and Dinner.
